Online elementary tutoring by state

Peak Online Learning provides live one-on-one virtual tutoring for TK–5th grade to families throughout the United States. These pages answer the questions that come up most often in particular states.

Where is Peak Online Learning available?

Peak Online Learning provides personalized one-on-one online tutoring for students in transitional kindergarten through 5th grade to families throughout the United States. Tutoring is delivered live over video, so availability does not depend on where a family lives. The state pages below are additional resources for families in ten states; they do not limit where Peak Online Learning works.

Because every session happens over video, the practical questions families ask are rarely about distance. They are about time zones, about how a virtual session actually runs for a seven-year-old, and about whether tutoring will connect to what is happening in their child's classroom. A few of those answers genuinely do differ by state — the clock is not the same everywhere, the drive to anything is much longer in some places than others, and the early grades are not even named the same way from one state to the next.

That is what these pages are for. Each one covers how virtual tutoring works for families in that state, how scheduling is handled across the relevant time zone, and the practical realities of geography, distance and season that affect whether a weekly commitment survives. If your state is not listed, nothing changes: request a complimentary consultation and we will talk through your child's situation exactly as we would for any other family.

What these pages are not

Peak Online Learning is a virtual tutoring practice. It does not operate offices, learning centers or branches in the states listed above, and it does not employ tutors who are assigned by the state a family happens to live in. A state page describes the availability of an online service to families resident in that state — nothing more.

Peak Online Learning is also not affiliated with any state education department, school district or state assessment program, and does not claim that instruction is aligned to any state's academic standards. What instruction can do is complement the skills and material a student is currently working on in school: families are welcome to share classroom assignments, teacher feedback and current learning goals so that sessions support the child's schoolwork appropriately. Tutoring works on the underlying reading, writing and math skills a child needs; it is not coaching toward a particular test.

How much does online tutoring cost?

Personalized online tutoring programs start at $280 per month. Starting programs typically include one private virtual tutoring session each week. Additional frequency and program options are available depending on the student's needs, goals and scheduling.

Pricing does not vary by state. The same program is available to a family in Raleigh and a family in Reno, and the recommendation for any individual child comes out of the complimentary initial consultation rather than off a menu. There is more detail on the program investment page.

How do time zones work?

Sessions are scheduled according to the family's local time and the available tutoring times. Scheduling is discussed during the complimentary consultation based on your family's time zone and the times that work for your child.

This matters more than families expect, and not for the reason they expect. The constraint is rarely the clock difference itself — it is that a tired child at the end of a long day does not learn much. Part of the conversation is finding a slot where your child still has something left to give.
